Program Overview

During this journey, we’ll explore the rich culture and flavors of North Macedonia, from the bustling streets of Skopje, where modern and historical influences come together, to the serene Matka Canyon and its impressive natural beauty. We’ll delve into the history and architecture of cities like Tetovo, with the colorful Painted Mosque, and Bitola, the former capital full of 19th-century charm. In Ohrid, the pearl of the lake, we’ll admire breathtaking views and enjoy local specialties. We’ll discover the archaeological wonders of Stobi, the traditional charm of Galichnik, and the unique atmosphere of Kratovo, with its stone bridges and ancient houses. Along the way, we’ll savor authentic dishes, from fresh fish and local wines to sweet treats like baklava and tulumba. Each day offers a perfect balance of culture, gastronomy, and inspiring landscapes.

Day 1 - Arrival in Skopje »
Arrival at Skopje Airport and transfer to our cozy hotel in the city center. After a delicious lunch featuring local specialties, we’ll take a relaxed walk through the city. We’ll explore the city center along the Vardar River, where modernity and history blend harmoniously. Discover how the city was rebuilt in its former glory after the devastating earthquake of 1961 while enjoying the rich culinary aromas from nearby food stalls and cafés. A perfect start to discovering the flavors and culture of North Macedonia!
Day 2 - Skopje to Matka »
After a hearty breakfast, we depart for the enchanting Matka Canyon, a culinary and cultural highlight. This breathtaking natural area, with its turquoise waters and steep cliffs, offers not only stunning views but also the chance to sample traditional snacks at a local eatery by the water.

After lunch, we return to Skopje and dive into the lively old town for a walk through the historic Stara Tsarshia Bazaar. Here, you can taste the authentic flavors of local delicacies like baklava and tulumba while browsing colorful shops and market stalls. This is a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere and culinary traditions of this iconic place. We close the day with a group dinner, reflecting on the impressions and experiences of the day.
Day 3 - Tetovo to Galichnik »
In the vibrant town of Tetovo, we visit the impressive Painted Mosque, a cultural and culinary gem. This unique structure, funded during the Ottoman period by two sisters, is not only visually stunning with its colorful decorations and remarkable architecture but also offers insight into the rich culinary traditions of the region.

Next, we travel to the serene Mavrovo Lake, a tranquil natural area that provides an oasis of calm. The surrounding scenery, with the iconic Saint Nicholas Church sometimes partially submerged, creates a magical atmosphere that inspires reflection and a chance to savor the local environment.

Later, we visit the picturesque village of Galichnik, known for its traditional cuisine, well-preserved architecture, and breathtaking mountain location. Here, you’ll taste the famous Galichnik cheese and enjoy local wines while experiencing the charm of the village square. We close the day with dinner in the nearby Mavrovo region, reliving the day’s flavors and stories. A day full of culinary discoveries and rich culture!
Day 4 - Ohrid »
After breakfast, we head to the stunning city of Ohrid, a true gem on its namesake lake. While strolling through the picturesque town, you’ll discover charming streets and ancient allure. We’ll visit the iconic Saint John the Theologian Church, perched on a cliff with a breathtaking view of the lake.

In the evening, there’s time for those who wish to experiment with night photography, with the city and lake bathed in an atmospheric glow. We close the day with an elaborate dinner in a traditional restaurant, enjoying local specialties such as tavče gravče (bean stew) and fresh fish from the lake. A perfect combination of culture and culinary indulgence!
Day 5 - Ohrid to Bitola »
After breakfast, we travel to the historic city of Bitola, the former capital of North Macedonia, also known as the City of Consuls. Here, we immerse ourselves in a world of history and culinary traditions. As we wander through the city, we admire the well-preserved 19th-century architecture and visit the beautiful Ajdar Kadi Mosque, an architectural masterpiece and one of the most stunning mosques in the country.

We explore the bustling bazaar, where the aroma of freshly baked bread, spices, and local specialties fills the air. Here, you’ll have the chance to taste Macedonian delights like lokum (Turkish delight) and traditional coffee. Later, we travel to Prilep, famous for its white Sivec Marble and extensive tobacco fields. We close the day with dinner highlighting regional dishes and spend the night in this charming town.
Day 6 - Prilep to Stobi »

Today, we visit the impressive archaeological site of Stobi, one of the most important historical locations in North Macedonia. This ancient city, situated at the crossroads of trade routes, provides a fascinating glimpse into life during Roman and Byzantine times. We admire beautiful mosaics, remnants of bathhouses, and the theater, bringing history to life.

Later, we travel to the charming town of Kratovo, known for its rich history and unique architecture, including its stone bridges and traditional houses. We close the day with a dinner featuring local dishes and flavors. Overnight in Kratovo, where history and gastronomy come together in an atmospheric setting.
Day 7 - Kratovo »
We explore Kratovo, one of the oldest towns in North Macedonia, located in the crater of an extinct volcano. This charming town is known for its historic stone bridges and traditional houses, offering a unique setting for photography and culinary discoveries. As we stroll through the narrow streets, we visit a unique church and sample local specialties, such as homemade cheese and pastries, typical of the region.

In the afternoon, we travel to Kuklici, also known as the “Petrified Wedding.” Here, we admire the stone formations shaped by erosion, resembling a wedding party. The mystical landscape and the legends surrounding it make this an unforgettable experience.

At the end of the afternoon, we drive back to Skopje via Kumanovo. Here, we enjoy a group dinner featuring a selection of Macedonian dishes, reviewing our trip photos and reflecting on the unique culinary and cultural experiences of this journey. A perfect conclusion to a special trip!
