This trip is intended for enthusiastic amateur photographers, both beginners and advanced. Thanks to the small scale of our tours, guidance is tailored to everyone’s individual knowledge and experience.

We pay attention to the technique of photography, as well as to observing, composing, and portraying what you want to convey. After all, photography is a way to tell a story.

Your tour leader will be Suzana Gulevska, accompanied by professional photographer Sjaak Henselmans.

Sjaak is a professional photographer who will provide tips, guidance, and inspiration during the journey.

Program in Brief

This unique photography tour begins in the charming town of Preveza, where you’ll be immediately immersed in the beauty of the Ionian Sea and receive tips on capturing atmospheric morning images. From Preveza, we’ll explore historical locations like Nikopolis, Cassope, and Arta, with their impressive architecture and cultural richness, perfect for both landscape and detail photography. Next, we’ll travel through the colorful Lefkada and traditional Messolonghi to the Venetian town of Nafpaktos, full of photogenic streets and a relaxed ambiance. In the highlands around Nafpaktos, you’ll discover the idyllic Ano Chora, where serene nature and traditional village charm inspire unique compositions.

The journey continues to Galaxidi, the archaeological site of Delphi, and the stylish mountain village of Arachova, where you’ll capture both ancient history and modern charm. A visit to the impressive Ossios Loukas Monastery and the natural beauty of Mount Parnassus provides even more opportunities to deepen your photography skills, all under the guidance of our professional photographer. The trip concludes in Athens, the crown jewel of the journey, with highlights such as the majestic Acropolis and the atmospheric neighborhoods of Plaka and Anafiotika, where the interplay of light and shadow brings your images to life. You’ll return home with a collection of stunning photos and memories, enriched with new insights and inspiration.

Various Types of Photography

At the locations mentioned above, we’ll work on various photographic disciplines, including landscape photography, travel photography, architectural photography, and street photography. We’ll also stop frequently for spontaneous shots of beautiful scenes that present themselves along the way.

Sometimes you’ll take photos based on assignments, and at other times you can work freely on your own. Nothing is mandatory, and much is possible. For those interested, we’ll regularly review the photos together so we can inspire and learn from one another.

Accommodations and Transportation

We’ll stay in beautiful hotels along the way, enjoy authentic Greek meals at local tavernas, and travel in a small group using minivans.

Day 1 - Arrival in Preveza »
We begin the day with a relaxed coffee in the charming town of Preveza, a picturesque city on the Ionian Sea along Greece’s western coast. This town offers access to the stunning inland sea Amvrakikos Kolpos and is a photogenic location full of character and history, ideal for capturing atmospheric morning images. Our professional photographer will immediately provide tips on composition and lighting so you can start creating impressive photos.

After coffee, we’ll take time to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and start taking our first photos. This is also an excellent opportunity to get to know each other and discuss which photographic techniques you’d like to learn or improve during the trip.

In the afternoon, we will take our time to capture stunning photographs. During a leisurely walk through the city, we’ll have the opportunity to discover and photograph the unique charm and picturesque spots of vibrant Preveza. We’ll end the day with a delicious dinner, savoring the local cuisine and discussing plans and photography opportunities for the next day.
Day 2 - Excursions to Nikopolis, Cassope and Arta »
After breakfast, we’ll discuss the first day’s experiences and go over the plan for the day, focusing on unique photographic opportunities. Our professional photographer will provide practical tips for capturing historical sites and architecture.

We’ll begin at the impressive Byzantine walls of Nikopolis, offering perfect opportunities to experiment with photographing historical structures and the interplay of light and shadow. Then we’ll explore the ruins of the ancient Greek city of Cassope, which offers stunning views and a rich history, perfect for both landscape photography and close-ups of archaeological details.

High atop the cliffs, we’ll photograph the iconic Dance of Zalongo monument, commemorating the women and children who chose freedom over captivity during the Turkish occupation.

In Arta, we’ll visit the imposing stone bridge over the Arachthos River and the Byzantine church Panagia Parigoritissa, both ideal for creative compositions combining natural and architectural elements.
Day 3 - Preveza - Lefkada - Messolonghi - Nafpaktos »
The next day, we set out early to begin our photography journey to the enchanting island of Lefkada, also known as Lefkas. Crossing a long causeway, we reach this picturesque island, which instantly inspires with its shimmering lagoons and vibrant color palette. The upper floors of the houses, originally made of wood, are painted in bright hues, providing a perfect opportunity to experiment with color photography and capture unique details. Our photographer will offer tips to help you bring out Lefkada’s distinctive character in your images.

We then continue southward, stopping in the fascinating city of Messolonghi, renowned for its traditional sea salt production. This unique location offers opportunities for landscape photography as well as capturing local crafts. Along the way, we cross the impressive Rio-Antirrio Bridge, a masterpiece of modern architecture that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding landscape.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Nafpaktos, a charming Venetian town brimming with atmosphere and history. Its picturesque streets and relaxed ambiance make it an ideal location for photography. Our photographer will guide you in capturing the unique charm of this destination, from historical elements to daily life in this lovely town. We end the day with a relaxing evening and a review of the day’s photos, providing new insights and inspiration for the days ahead.
Day 4 - Nafpaktos - Ano Chora »
After breakfast, we embark on a breathtaking photo excursion through the highlands of Nafpaktos, an unspoiled and sparsely populated area where life still moves at a gentle pace. Along the way, we make regular stops to capture the stunning landscape: majestic mountains, picturesque villages, and expansive views provide the perfect setting for awe-inspiring photographs. Our photographer will guide you in capturing these unique moments, offering tips on landscape photography and the optimal use of light and perspective.

One of the highlights of this journey is the mountain village of Ano Chora, also known as the “Upper Village,” situated at an altitude of 1,050 meters. This idyllic village, once almost completely isolated in winter, exudes authentic charm. Here, you can photograph unique details, such as the old bus on the central square, a silent reminder of bygone days.

We take a leisurely walk through the atmospheric streets of the village, giving you ample opportunity to capture the local architecture and daily life. A visit to the folk museum reveals the region’s rich heritage and traditions, offering a chance to learn how to photograph cultural elements in a unique way. This photo journey strikes a perfect balance between inspiration, relaxation, and the development of your photographic skills in an unspoiled and authentic setting.
Day 5 - Nafpaktos - Galaxidi - Delfi - Arachova »
On Day 5, we follow the scenic coastal road to the charming port town of Galaxidi, a gem along the Gulf of Corinth. This authentic town offers an abundance of photo opportunities with its picturesque harbor, narrow streets, and traditional architecture. During a relaxed photo walk, you’ll have the chance to capture the unique charm of Galaxidi.

From Galaxidi, we drive into the mountains to the legendary archaeological site of Delphi, one of the most iconic locations of the ancient Greek world. Known as the center of the world according to ancient Greeks and famed for the Oracle of Delphi, this magical place is a dream location for photography.

After our visit to Delphi, we travel further to Arachova, a stylish mountain village that is a bustling hub of the Parnassus ski area in winter. This village offers a stunning backdrop with its cozy streets, traditional architecture, and breathtaking mountain landscape. We stay here for the next two nights, giving you the opportunity to photograph both the village and the surrounding nature while enjoying the unique atmosphere of this high-altitude destination.
Day 6 - Ossio Loukas Monestery - Livadia »

Today, we embark on a beautiful photo journey to the Ossios Loukas Monastery, founded around 900 AD. This impressive monastery complex, a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture, offers countless photography opportunities with its magnificent churches, mosaic details, and historic olive press. Our professional photographer will help you capture the unique ambiance and architectural beauty of this site.

We continue our journey to the city of Livadia, nestled at the foot of the mountains surrounding the fertile plain. Known for its clear springs and rich history, this city provides an intriguing mix of natural and urban photography.

Next, we take a scenic drive around the majestic Mount Parnassus, dedicated to the god Apollo and home to the Muses. Along the way, we stop in the picturesque village of Davlia and the historic Ano Tithorea, where you can practice photographing traditional village scenes and daily life. Here, we also enjoy a delightful lunch in a charming setting, offering the perfect opportunity for relaxed street photography.

Our route takes us further to Polydrossos and the scenic mountain village of Eftalofos, where we visit a beautiful waterfall.

At the end of this memorable day, we return to Arachova via the breathtaking mountain roads of Parnassus. The impressive landscapes and unique photo moments make this an unforgettable experience.
Day 7 - Arachova - Athens »

After an early breakfast, we head to vibrant Athens, a city full of contrasts and photographic opportunities. Our day begins with a visit to the majestic Acropolis, an iconic highlight that not only embodies Greece’s rich past but also offers fantastic views over the city.

After exploring the Acropolis, we dive into the surrounding neighborhoods for a relaxed walk and more photo opportunities. The atmospheric Plaka district, with its charming alleys and authentic vibe, provides ample inspiration for street photography. But Athens has even more to offer: its revamped, largely pedestrianized city center is perfect for leisurely exploration and capturing unique urban scenes.

A hidden gem we’ll visit is the Anafiotika neighborhood. With its narrow streets and whitewashed houses, built by refugees from the island of Anafi, this place exudes the charm of a Greek island. Here, you’ll have the chance to capture intimate compositions and atmospheric details.

History enthusiasts will appreciate the Roman Agora, a fascinating part of ancient Athens. Our photographer will help you creatively capture the grandeur of this historic site, with attention to lines, shadows, and textures.

After a delicious lunch, you can spend the afternoon as you wish. Climb Filopappou Hill for a spectacular view of the Acropolis and the city—an ideal spot for landscape photography—or visit the renowned Acropolis Museum to practice photographing ancient Greek masterpieces in detail.

Filopappou Hill is also a fantastic spot for capturing the sunset. With the golden light illuminating the Acropolis, you’ll end the day on a magical note, elevating your photography skills to new heights.
Day 8 - Departure from Athens »

With a suitcase full of unforgettable photos and a heart full of wonderful memories of this unique photography tour, we head to Athens Airport. This is the moment to reflect on the special places we’ve visited and the skills you’ve developed during the trip. As you return home, you’ll carry not only stunning images but also new insights and techniques to continue applying in your photography. A journey to remember forever!
